Modern Marvel

This stately residence in a suburban neighborhood needed to accommodate a contemporary, well-crafted lifestyle of its owners who have multiple residences, each reflecting their modern aesthetic.  In striking contrast to this estate’s traditional red brick exterior, the outdated interiors were completely transformed and rearranged to showcase an open floor plan. Steel beams were added to support the spans of the design. Flush casings helped to emphasize the precision craftsmanship throughout. Millwork featured warm toned wood. Streamlined cabinetry with vertical-grain walnut and brushed aluminum materials were juxtaposed with quartersawn ash flooring and used in the kitchen. The owners also wanted the primary bath to serve as a luxurious retreat, complete with an oversized shower, sculptural soaking tub, and an existing fireplace was refaced to keep with the spa-like appearance.
